But according to CNN's Jim Acosta, they aren't anything but a group of migrants. Not an invasion at all.

- Mexican and Guatemalan police were attacked with by caravan members with stones, firecrackers, and glass bottles.

Mexican authorities claim that some migrants from the second caravan making its way through Mexico to the U.S. border are carrying firearms and gasoline bombs.

Mexican Interior Secretary Alfonso Navarrete defended his country after Honduran man from the caravan died during an altercation with Guatemalan and Mexican police, saying the police were attacked with “stones, firecrackers, and glass bottles.” He also said some of the attackers were carrying firearms and gasoline bombs.

The unidentified 26-year-old Honduran man was killed by a rubber bullet after migrants clashed with authorities on a bridge on the border of Mexico and Guatemala. The migrants broke down a metal police barrier and firefighters said dozens of people were injured.

The news of the caravan comes on the heels of President Trump’s recent comments that “some very bad people” were mixed in with the migrant group.

Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border. Please go back, you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process. This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!

The Pentagon announced Monday that it will deploy 5,200 troops to the U.S. border with Mexico. The commander with the U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy said the mission, dubbed, “Operation Faithful Patriot” would “harden the points of entry.”

The Defense Department confirmed that 800 troops have already arrived to the nearly 2,000 mile U.S. southern border to provide three unified command centers to aid with logistical support and other necessary support for federal law enforcement agencies already assigned to the border.
