The Trump State Department has frozen funding to the controversial Syrian aid group known as the White Helmets, which provided the only "evidence" of the chemical attack in Douma which they blame on Syrian leader Assad. This evidence prompted a missile attack by the US. However, many people from that area say it never happened, which has triggered skepticism about the group's real allegiances.
