What if the US began locking up anyone who denied the lord and savior Jesus Christ? I think the hypocricy is lost on people in their ego-driven attempts to cite the fact that they are offended as a justification for shutting down speech they disagree with, speech which does nothing beyond acknowledge that they are in disagreement.
